How Navat is Made in Uzbekistan
Navat is a traditional Uzbek sweet consisting of crystallized sugar. Navat is made of grape juice with the addition of spices or concentrated sugar syrup, which is crystallized around special threads while being boiled. Navat may be from yellowish white to dark yellow and brown, depending on the boiling time. Containing much glucose and fructose, navat has a number of curative effects and is used in the folk medicine as cough and throat lozenges or, dissolved in green tea, for curing many other illnesses.
