We invite you to a comfortable trekking tour in the highlands of the Pamirs with an ascent of a beautiful and accessible five-thousander – Yukhin Peak (5130 m). We will approach the very foot of the famous Lenin Peak (7134 m) – its grandiose North Face, admire the giant glacier, ancient moraines and bottomless crevasses, cross a capricious mountain river, enjoy the quiet turquoise waters of the sacred Tulpar-Köl Lake, and take in breathtaking panoramas from the Travelers’ Pass (4150 m) and the viewpoint on the ridge of Petrovsky Peak (4100 m).
In addition to trekking, the tour includes a technically easy ascent of Yukhin Peak (5130 m) – a picturesque five-thousander in the northern spurs of Lenin Peak. The classic route to Yukhin Peak is relatively straightforward and does not require special mountaineering equipment, except for trekking boots. There are no steep ice or rock sections along the way, making it an ideal choice for those dreaming of their first 5000-meter summit. From the top of Yukhin Peak, you will enjoy a stunning panorama: on one side – the snowy wall of Lenin Peak, and on the other – the endless Alay Valley.
We will stay in well-equipped yurt camps, where you can choose your type of accommodation – spacious heated tents with beds or authentic Kyrgyz yurts with private bathrooms. The camps offer a sauna and showers, washbasins, toilets, internet access, rental point, café, shop, medical station, volleyball court, and large national yurts. Delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are beautifully served in warm yurts, with meals prepared by a professional team under the guidance of a guest chef.
Allow yourself to discover some of the unique places of our planet! We will carefully guide you along safe trails and show you the incomparable beauty of the true high mountains!

FAQ
| Tour program Osh-Osh: | ||
| Day 1 | Arrival in Osh. Transfer to the Pamirs,
“Edelweiss Meadow” yurt camp. Meeting at the Osh airport with a representative of Central Asia Travel. Breakfast. A short briefing. Handing over of necessary documents and permits. Visit to a supermarket before departure. Transfer along the Pamir Highway, which is ranked among the top 10 most beautiful roads in the world by National Geographic. The drive promises to be incredibly scenic, so grab a window seat: we’ll see red mountains and rivers, the vastness of the Alay Valley, and the dizzying serpentine road of the Taldyk Pass (3600 m), and finally, the snowy northern face of the seven-thousander, Lenin Peak (7134 m). Upon arrival at the yurt camp, situated in the Edelweiss Meadow (3600 m) with the best views of Lenin Peak, we’ll check-in and enjoy lunch. Afterward, we’ll take a walk to the Lukovaya (Leek) Meadow (3800 m) – a protected meadow that was once place for climbing camps but is now inhabited only by marmots and wild green onions. During the height of the swift Pamir summer, the meadow turns into a vibrant green carpet with a riot of colors, and by the end of August, it becomes a silent realm painted in ochre hues. We'll follow a beautiful route along the edge of the Achik-Tash Canyon, where we’ll see whimsical pillar-like rocks, a conical pyramid, the confluence of two rivers, and colorful mountains. We’ll hear the rush of water and the resonant silence of the stones. Walking time: 2 hrs; altitude difference: +250 m, -250 m. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight at “Edelweiss Meadow” yurt camp (3600 m). |

|
|
||
| Day 2 | Acclimatization hiking to the lakes of the Achik-Tash River
valley and the sacred Tulpar-Kol Lake. Travel time: 5–6 hrs; altitude difference: -260 m, +260 m. We’ll start this morning with an easy hiking along the picturesque "fjords" of the Achik-Tash Valley, dotted with a variety of beautiful, colorful lakes. Some of them even join together, changing shapes every year. Their sparkling turquoise surface reflects the impressive peaks of the Pamirs, and herds of yaks often graze along the shores. Next, we’ll head to the large, pristine Tulpar-Kol Lake. We’ll descend to the river and cross a bridge to the other side, where the sacred lake lies. The locals believe one shouldn't take water, bathe, and feed cattle or fish. According to shepherds, it's best to come to the lake with a clear mind. You can pray on the shore, dip sick parts of your body or sprinkle them with water, and you'll definitely receive healing. We’ll walk around the lake, taking in its winding shapes from different view points, and learn about the daily life and traditions of the nomadic Kyrgyz whose yurts are nearby. Along the way, we may encounter donkeys, horses, and untouched meadows filled with delicate blooming edelweiss, vibrant buttercups, and alpine forget-me-nots. Return to the yurt camp. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight at “Edelweiss Meadow” yurt camp (3600 m). |
|
|
|
||
| Day 3 | Acclimatization hike to a scenic viewing point on the Petrovskiy Peak
ridge (4150 m). Trekking time: 3-4 hrs; altitude difference: +500 m, -500 m. Petrovskiy peak (4700 m) is one of the easier and closer peaks in relation to the Base camp. Hiking up to the altitude of approximately 4100 m where you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the picturesque Alay Valley, the majestic Zaalaysky Ridge, and its highest peak, Lenin Peak (7134 m). From this view point, we’ll see the whole labyrinth of lakes in the Achik-Tash Valley that we explored yesterday, along with numerous Base Camps, Tulpar-Kol Lake, and the neighboring snowy gorge. Return to the yurt camp. Rest and preparation for tomorrow's ascent to “Sunny” camp 1. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight at “Edelweiss Meadow” yurt camp (3600 m). |
|
|
|
||
| Day 4 | Trekking to “Sunny” camp 1 (4400 m) at the foot of the seven-thousander
– Lenin Peak. Travel time: 6-7 hours; altitude difference: +800 m. The route to the "Sunny" camp runs through the Lukovaya (Leek) Meadow, the Marmot Meadow, the Spirit Castle of Alay, thePuteshestvennikov (Traveller’s) Pass (4150 m), and the magnificent Lenin Glacier. On this trail, you might meet groups of climbers either ascending or descending from the upper camps or the summit of Lenin Peak. At the Puteshestvennikov (Traveller’s) Pass, we’ll enjoy a break and one of the best views of the magnificent Lenin Peak (7134 m) and its glacier, as well as the nearby six-thousanders and five-thousanders. Following is the descent from the pass – it is pretty easy and quick. After that, the trail turns into a virtually horizontal surface and stretches in parallel to the left moraine dump over a very long distance. We then cross a wild mountain river and ascent the trail that leads to the Lenin Glacier. Afterwards, we move along the body of the glacier until we reach Camp 1, which is located on the middle moraine. Arrival in the “Sunny” camp 1 (4400 m), accommodation, and rest. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight at “Sunny” camp 1 (4400 m). |

| Day 5 | Ascent to Yukhin Peak (5130 m). Travel time: 6-7 hours; altitude difference: +730 m; -730 m. The route is led by a guide, without special equipment. Stage 1: Starting from Camp 1 (4400 m) on the middle moraine of the Lenin glacier. Traversing the glacier crosswise and beginning to ascend the left (orographically) moraine of the Lenin Glacier. Stage 2: Ascending the moraine’s ridge. The slope’s steepness reaches 20–25°. Entering a gentler area and crossing it towards the southern slope – to a wide couloir leading directly onto the summit of Yukhin Peak (5130 m). Stage 3: Ascending the right (in the direction of the movement) side of the couloir, the slope’s steepness reaches 30° in some places. Most of the time we walk on snow, in some places on scree of small or medium-size stones. Left turn after the emergence from the couloir. After walking for some 15meters on a narrow snow-covered ridge we reach the upper plateau just beneath the peak and the summit proper. Stage 4: The group will descend the mountain along the same route as they climbed it. Return to the “Sunny” camp 1 (4400 m), and rest. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight at “Sunny” camp 1 (4400 m). |

|
||
| Day 6 | Descent to “Edelweiss Meadow” yurt camp (3600 m). Travel time: 5 hours; altitude difference: -800 m. | Day 7 | Transfer to Osh. Travel time: 5 h; distance: 280 km. After lunch transfer to Osh through the famous Alay Valley, high-altitude Taldyk pass (3645 m) and Chiirchik pass (2408 m). Arrival in Osh. Check-in at the hotel. Leisure time. We recommend taking a self-guided walk through the city center. You can visit the local bazaar where you can buy national souvenirs or the shopping street filled with dozens of shops and street food options. If you’d like, you can also take the stairway trail up to the sacred Suleiman-Too Mountain, which takes about half an hour to reach the viewpoint at 1092 meters. From there, you'll enjoy stunning panoramic views of the entire city of Osh. At this viewpoint, you'll find a massive flag of Kyrgyzstan waving and a small mosque called Babur's house (15th-16th centuries), who was the grandson of Tamerlane. The setting of this mountain right in the city center adds to its appeal, and if you go closer to sunset, you'll catch the most breathtaking views. Meals: breakfast, lunch. Overnight at the hotel. |

| ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATION |
|
The application deadline for participation in the tour is 30 days before the start of the program. This is due to the need to obtain a mandatory permit for visiting the border control zone: Lenin Peak area and the yurt camp are located close to the Tajikistan border, within the border zone, and therefore a special permit is required for all visitors without exception. |
|
|
30 days before the trip: to arrange the permit, we will need a high-quality scanned copy of the passport (without folds, glare, or fingers) that the traveler intends to use when entering Kyrgyzstan. Citizens of the Russian Federation may enter with either an international passport or a domestic passport. The permit for the border zone and the mandatory ecological fee are included in the tour price. |
|
|
20 days before the trip: we kindly ask you to provide your flight details (arrival and departure). Air tickets must be purchased independently. Please note when booking flights: Departure from Osh is scheduled for the 8th day of the program, with hotel check-out before 12:00 p.m. |
|
|
We recommend purchasing travel medical insurance with the “Active Leisure” or “Trekking” category. The insurance policy must be arranged in advance, independently by the traveler. Insurance recommendations: |
|
|
Transfers airport – hotel – airport are provided only within the dates of the group tour. If a traveler arrives earlier or departs later, and books extra hotel nights in Osh through our company in addition to the main program, airport transfers will be adjusted without additional charge. If extra accommodation in Osh is booked independently, transfers from/to the airport will not be provided. |
|
|
Please note that the basic tour price is based on double accommodation. If a traveler is traveling alone, there are two options: We can only guarantee shared accommodation in a tent at Edelweiss Meadow Yurt Camp, but not in a yurt or hotel in Osh. For those traveling alone who choose the tent sharing option, we will in any case pre-book a single room in a hotel in Osh, as we cannot guarantee a roommate in a double room. Therefore, an additional fee of +25 USD per night will apply for single accommodation in the hotel. Shared accommodation under the “Comfort” option is not available. |

How to Come to "Edelweiss Meadow Camp"
A journey to our "Edelweiss Meadow Camp" on
Edelweiss Meadow at the foot of Lenin Peak (3,600 m) takes 5-6 hours if you set out on it
from Osh where you can easily get by air; international flights arrive in the city every
day. We shall travel in a comfortable motor vehicle along the Pamir Highway over picturesque
mountain passes, through cute native mountain villages and Alay Valley.
If you have
time to stroll about Osh, you will be pleased with the views and colors of this Asian city.
Osh is often referred to as ‘the southern capital’ of Kyrgyzstan. It is the
country’s second largest city. You will meet kind and hospitable people and see green
busy streets with a lot of cozy cafes. You will visit the exotic local bazaar, and Suleiman
Mountain - the main Osh’s place of attraction and the only Kyrgyzstan’s World
Heritage Site. The mountain rises in the middle of the city, which enhances its
impressiveness and indicates that the Pamirs are not far already.
There are three ways to get to "Edelweiss Meadow Camp":
1. Via Osh, proceeding to the camp by road (Thanks to Kyrgyz
visa-free regime regulations and the flights to Osh from Moscow and other CIS cities,
including Turkish Airlines flights, this is the best way today, since it allows for saving
money and, most importantly, time.)
2. Via Tashkent, the capital of
Uzbekistan, proceeding to Osh and thence to the camp by road (The journey from Tashkent to
Osh will take 6-7 hours. On the way to Osh you will travel through the picturesque Kamchik
Mountain Pass and Ferghana Valley. Nationals of non-CIS countries will need Uzbekistan visas
to come via Tashkent.)
3. Via Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan,
proceeding to Osh by air and thence to the camp by road. (Note the flight baggage allowance
is 15 kg, with additional weight to cost 0.7 EURO per kg.)

- What is the night and day temperature in the camps?

- Can people with health problems take the tour?
- What should I do if I feel bad in Camps?
- What facilities do the camps feature?
- What currency is used in Lenin Peak area?
- What is Vacation in the Pamirs?
Vacation in the Pamirs is a unique tour allowing for combination of several recreational activities. While it provides a lot of adventure opportunities, such as hiking and horse riding, it is also intended for adults with no special training, and children. The tour program is optional; the campers will have complete freedom in planning their stays during the tour. - What is the best time to arrive for Vacation in the Pamirs?
You can choose one of the four arrival dates to suit your convenience. See the table Dates above.You are to arrive in Osh early on the day chosen, or the day before. The time of departure from Osh to "Edelweiss Meadow Camp" is 06:00. If you arrive on the previous day we can reserve a room in an Osh’s hotel for you and meet you at the airport. - What is the minimal age for the participation in ‘Vacation in the
Pamirs’ program? Can children stay at high altitudes?
As the "Edelweiss Meadow Camp" is situated at an elevation of 3,600 m, we strongly recommend that you avoid taking children under 8 there.
According to UIAA, only children aged 8 and older react to high-altitude conditions in the same way as adults do, and have the same symptoms of the mountain disease. As for younger children, their reaction is unpredictable and, therefore, they should not be brought to an altitude of more than 3,000 to 4,000 m, while their sleep altitude should not be higher than 2,500 m.
If you take your child to high-altitude areas, you must make sure he/she is absolutely well. Please, consult your pediatrician before going to the mountains with your child.
The particular risks of exposure of children to high altitude have not been thoroughly studied and much of the advice must necessarily be extrapolated from adult data with due considerations of the influence of growth and development. As known so far children are not under more restrictions to acute exposure to altitude than adults.
Note: Young children are generally poor at communicating their physiological discomfort, i.e. unlikely to say they are dangerous cold, can’t feel their fingers (assuming they have enough language skills). They would probably just become very quiet and still. A child’s thermal regulation is immaturely developed, as is their ability to adapt to hypoxic exposure when compared to an adult.
Reflection from snow and a thinner atmospheric layer at high altitude make the risk of solar ultraviolet radiation burns more likely than at sea level. Children are more likely to burn than adults if exposed to excess sun. Appropriate sun-block creams (protection from UVA and UVB, SPF at least 30, applied before sun exposure), hats, long sleeves and goggles are required to prevent sunburn or snowblindness.
Adequate clothing is essential to prevent misery, hypothermia, and frostbite.
Brochure UIAA with recomendations for parents. - What is the night and day temperature in the camps?
The day temperature in "Edelweiss Meadow Camp" in July-August varies from +5°С to +30°С; at night it is from +3°С to +15°С. The season is usually sunny and precipitation-free at this altitude. It might snow, rarely; if it does, the snow fallen melts quite quickly.
It snows more often in "Sunny Camp", since it is located at an altitude of 4,400 m. It is up to +25°С in sunny weather and around 0°С in bad weather there. - What kind of clothes should I wear in the area?
We recommend that you have the following clothes and gear:- A moderate-sized backpack to hike with (30-40 l);
- Transport trunk. Not essential, but it facilitates the transportation of the things to "Edelweiss Meadow Camp" and further horseback transportation to "Sunny Camp".
- Sun cream (SPF 25-40).
- Sunglasses.
- Trekking boots (Scarpa kailash GTX, Salomon Quest 4D GTX, The North Face Wreck Mid GTX or similar).
- Hiking shoes (SALEWA MTN Trainer GTX, Garmont Dragontail MNT GTX or similar), andor sandals (Teva, Keen or similar) to travel within and between the lower camps ("Edelweiss Meadow Camp" and "Sunny Camp"). Besides, you need a pair of light and open footwear for Osh, which features high summer temperatures.
- Downy jacket / PrimaLoft or ThermoBall synthetic insulated jackets (BASK Valdez or similar)
- Assault jacket GORE-TEX (RedFox Vector GTX III or similar).
- Assault trousers GORE-TEX or Bib and brace overalls GORE-TEX (RedFox Vector GTX III or similar).
- Suit POLARTEC (for instance, jacket BASK Kondor V3 + trousers BASK Vinson Pro V2).

- Knitted T-shirts.
- Socks-POLAR, thermal socks, like Boreal TREK Thermolite or similars + ordinary socks.

FAQ
| Tour program Bishkek-Bishkek: | ||
| Day 1 | Arrival in Bishkek. Domestic flight Bishkek
– Osh. Arrival in the international airport “Manas” (Bishkek). Domestic flight to Osh. Meeting at the airport of Osh. Transfer and check in at the hotel after 14:00. Leisure time. Osh, known as the "southern capital", is the second-largest city in Kyrgyzstan, located at an altitude of 963 meters above sea level, on the southeastern edge of the fertile Ferghana Valley, right at the foot of the Pamir-Alay mountains. Depending on your arrival time, we recommend taking a self-guided walk through the city center. You can visit the local bazaar or the shopping street filled with dozens of shops and street food options. If you’d like, you can also pick up a tourist SIM card with an Internet package (it works perfectly in the Pamir Mountains) or take the stairway trail up to the sacred Suleiman-Too Mountain, which takes about half an hour to reach the viewpoint at 1092 meters. Overnight at the hotel. |

|
|
||
| Day 2 | Transfer to the Pamirs, “Edelweiss Meadow”
yurt camp. Overnight at “Edelweiss Meadow” yurt camp (3600 m). |

|
|
||
| Day 3 | Acclimatization hiking to the lakes of the Achik-Tash River
valley and the sacred Tulpar-Kol Lake. Overnight at “Edelweiss Meadow” yurt camp (3600 m). |

|
|
||

Stage 2: Ascending the moraine’s ridge. The slope’s steepness reaches 20–25°. Entering a gentler area and crossing it towards the southern slope – to a wide couloir leading directly onto the summit of Yukhin Peak (5130 m). Most of the time we walk on snow, in some places on scree of small or medium-size stones. Left turn after the emergence from the couloir. After walking for some 15meters on a narrow snow-covered ridge we reach the upper plateau just beneath the peak and the summit proper. | ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATION |
|
The application deadline for participation in the tour is 30 days before the start of the program. This is due to the need to obtain a mandatory permit for visiting the border control zone: Lenin Peak area and the yurt camp are located close to the border with Tajikistan, within the border zone; therefore, a special permit is required for all visitors without exception. |
|
|
30 days before the trip: to arrange the permit, we will need a high-quality scanned copy of the passport (without folds, glare, or fingers) that the traveler intends to use to enter Kyrgyzstan. Citizens of the Russian Federation may enter with either international or domestic passports (visa-free entry). The permit for the border zone and the mandatory ecological fee are included in the tour price. |
|
|
20 days before the trip: we kindly ask you to provide your flight details (arrival and departure). Air tickets must be purchased independently by the traveler. Please note when booking flights:
To adapt more easily to the time zone and altitude, you may arrive in Osh the day before the tour (optional). In this case, it is necessary to book an extra night in a hotel, as the program includes only 1 night in Osh after the trek. Departure from Osh is scheduled for the 8th day of the program, with hotel check-out before 12:00 p.m. |
|
|
We recommend purchasing travel medical insurance with the category “Active Leisure” or “Trekking.” The insurance policy must be arranged in advance, independently by the traveler.
|
|
|
|
Shared accommodation under the “Comfort” option is not available. |

Mountain - the main Osh’s place of attraction and the only Kyrgyzstan’s World

impressiveness and indicates that the Pamirs are not far already.

- What is Vacation in the Pamirs?
- What is the best time to arrive for Vacation in the Pamirs?
- What is the minimal age for the participation in ‘Vacation in the Pamirs’ program? Can children stay at high altitudes?

- What kind of clothes should I wear in the area?

We recommend that you have the following clothes and gear:- A moderate-sized backpack to hike with (30-40 l);

- Socks-POLAR, thermal socks, like Boreal TREK Thermolite or similars + ordinary socks.
