Nomad Lodge Tamga Yurt Camp
Location: Kyrgyzstan, Issyk-Kul Region, Jeti-Ögüz District, southern shore of the Issyk-Kul Lake
The ‘Nomad Lodge Tamga’ Yurt Camp is located on the southern shore of the Issyk-Kul Lake, 10km from the village of Tamga and 90km from the city of Karakol. Issyk-Kul’s southern shore is a relatively quiet, sparsely-populated place. There isn't a single big hotel in sight, and the picturesque scenery of the shore has been left untouched. The inhabitants of the surrounding settlements still follow ancient traditions, weaving rugs by hand, making fabrics and traditional decorations for yurts, breeding golden eagles and falcons for hunting, and organising folk festivals in the summer.
There are 14 yurts for housing guests at the ‘Nomad Lodge Tamga’ Yurt Camp. All yurts are decorated in the local style and equipped with heaters. There is a private toilet and a shower beside each yurt.
The camp has a large dining yurt which can hold up to 50 people. The dining yurt is also traditionally decorated, with low tables, Kyrgyz mattresses (called Zher toshok), and small folding chairs. Folk shows can be organised for guests during dinner.
There is also a conference yurt for up to 30 people which can be used for various business or educational events. The yurt is furnished with tables, chairs and a screen.
