Video: Oriental Sweets: Parvarda

Uzbek National Caramel. How to Make Parvarda

Parvarda is very popular Uzbek caramel, which has the form of small sweets coated with flour. The composition of these oriental sweets is quite simple, sugar, flour and lemon juice or citric acid being their only components. The recipe has not changed for many centuries: first, sugar is boiled into thick caramel, which is then molded into small sweets in the form of a pillow, and the latter are covered with flour. Sometimes herbs or spices are added to the caramel, making it more health-giving and its taste more specific. Parvarda can be purchased at every bazaar in Uzbekistan.
