This ancient building of madrasah is located in the heart of old town, on 73, Bakhauddin Nakshbandi street.
“Amulet” Hotel was opened in Bukhara on basis of Said Kamol madrasah built in 1861 by Mir-Said Kamol, Bukhara merchant.
This ancient madrasah building is located in the center of old town, on 73, Bakhauddin Nakshbandi Street. It had to survive a lot.
Once upon the time students studied and lived here, in small cells, far from their relatives and friends. Years of study were so long that often childhood and youth passed in these walls. It stayed empty for a long time, abandoned and desolated. It probably would live out its days, gradually dilapidating, getting covered with, destroying…
That is the preceding history of Said Kamol madrasah, the building that received its second youth after four years of restoration works.
The building was restored; works on its turning into small hotel were completed. The most important thing is that the spirit of antiquity was kept intact here.
That feeling intensifies when in some cells you see fragments of wall paintings-kyrma, made by skillful master using vegetable paints.
Eye-catching are ancient doors of the cells, thick beam ceiling. Despite seemingly strict appearance, the building still looks like medieval castle; from the first minute you can feel comfort and home warmth.
Every thing in the interior, in the design of the rooms is of good taste: either grandmother’s kist, massive bed of walnut or elegant chairs and tables made by talented Bukhara carpenter Syromyatnikov Alexey Petrovich.
Of course, like any hotel, each room has a bathroom, shower cabin, cold and hot water. Cordial hosts of madrasah hotel are always glad to be helpful.
The feeling of discovering a new unknown world - the Orient is harmoniously supplemented with a chance to live for a few days in the ancient building of 19th century in the center of Bukhara - the most ancient city of the Central Asia.
The hotel has a small library with books on Bukhara history and architecture.
At tourists’ disposal is an evening event - demonstration of cooking plov.
The hotel also has Wi-Fi Internet, fax, copy machine, computer. The leisure room is decorated similar to Bukhara houses: around low table with underneath sandalii (hearth) for heating, laid kurpachi-stitched mattresses and cushions to let you watch TV with over 200 channels, while drinking scented tea or coffee.
“Amulet” hotel offers dishes of Uzbek, Russian and vegetarian cuisine. Only fresh vegetables or fruit are used for cooking dishes, no matter salad or main course.
