Juuku Valley

The mountain ranges of Lake Issyk-Kul coasts host many canyons and valleys of extraordinary beauty. Juuku mountain valley is one of them. Located west of the Chon-Kyzyl-Suu river and south of the village of Saru, the Juuku valley stretches for more than 50 kilometers, extending far inside the Terksey-Alatoo ridge.

The first thing you can see when you get into the valley is the red rocks, which invite guests to enter their fabulous country. Further, you meet the famous Tien-Shan spruces on the slopes. At first they are sort of scattered on the high rocks, but deeper you go inside the gorge, the more of them you see, finally stepping into a real highland fir forest spreading for 30 kilometers. Above, in the middle of the valley there is a view of the huge glaciers and the It-Tash peak 4808 m high. The lake kingdom lies under the majestic mountain peak - Zhuuchuchak, Juuku, Chokolyk-Kel , Preglacial, Middle, Lower and Small lakes of various sizes sparkle with the purest water against the backdrop of magnificent natural landscapes. However, the most amazing lake is Kashka-Suu, located at an altitude of 3600 m. It is 800 meters long and 200 meters wide. Lake Kashka-Suu is unique because its waters flow both to Lake Issyk-Kul and to Tien Shan lowlands. The reserve of Lake Kashka-Suu replenishes as glaciers slide into it melting slowly. Juuku Valley is also famous for the several beautiful waterfalls. Here you not only see, but also hear pristine mountain nature.

The valley of Juuku has rich fauna - here you can find mountain ibex - teke, argali and stone martens, roe deer, partridges, snowcocks and Daurian partridges inhabit alpine meadows.

The Great Silk Road once passed through Juuku valley. Now this is a great place for mountain nature lovers. In addition, on the Djuukuchak gorge right side there are healing thermal mineral springs. All this attracts many tourists to the valley.
